Activism, a force that has shaped our history, has also shaped my personal journey. In the 1970s, we, as a collective, successfully ended a war and made significant strides in civil and women’s rights. It was during that period that I too, discovered my ability to effect change. However, history has a way of repeating itself if we fail to learn from it. Today, we find ourselves grappling with many of the same issues we believed we had resolved. These are not just political battles for me, but deeply personal ones that I am committed to fighting for.

My involvement in the Democratic Party has been driven by the rise of Christian nationalism, racism, and threats to reproductive freedom. I have not just been a passive member, but have actively chaired our LD Platform Committee and am currently serving on the state committee, ensuring that our elected officials uphold our shared values. As co-chair of our PCO Committee, I am on the ground, mobilizing voters and volunteers, educating the community and addressing their concerns. I have also played a key role in three appointments for County Commissioner, State Rep and State Senate, and am currently working to support an exceptional candidate for State Representative. My participation in the county and LD E-boards is aimed at shaping policy and nurturing the next generation of party leaders.

My career in Physical Therapy was born of a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. I located my practice in a marginalized community because I believe that ALL people deserve access to the best healthcare. Even though I am retired, equitable healthcare remains my priority as I serve as board president of Kitsap Mental Health Services. In addition, as former co-chair of the Suquamish Community Advisory Council and Tribal volunteer, I have worked to improve the relationship between Tribal and non-tribal members of the community. The work continues.

As a secular Jew, I feel my voice must be heard at a time when antisemitism has again reared its ugly head on both the right and the left. My work continues to be a labor of love, fueled by my belief that we must not stop pushing to ensure freedom and democracy survive.

At a time when older women are deemed “invisible,” I refuse to be! Experience does not diminish contribution and hopefully, brings with it some wisdom. I still have much to offer and will proudly represent Washington and all we stand for.

Please consider supporting my candidacy for national delegate.
