In my professional role as director of student success, equity, and diversity at my local community college as well as my personal role as the advisor to the youth council at my local NAACP branch, leading with racial equity to affect positive change regarding social justice issues is at the core of what I do. I strive to ensure the people of my community know they belong, have access to resources and support networks, and are empowered to use their voices to be the change they wish to see.
This country has a pattern of leaders who lack accountability and a true moral compass, contributing to the broken systems that perpetuate such stark disparities that are still so prevalent today. If I have the humbling opportunity to represent Washington state, you can count on me to elect a leader committed to closing equity gaps as it relates to education, economic & legal justice, healthcare and other sectors; this is to ensure a quality of life that every person deserves.
